This advanced precision gyroscope uses no string or motor to start it spinning, simply allow the contact ball to contact a work surface while rolling it in either a straight line, or in a circular motion. Speeds of over 3500 RPM are easily achievable, and with practice the rotor can reach almost 10,000 RPM. The best part is that the gyro can be sped back up at anytime without any need to stop the rotor and attach a motor or string meaning that there needn’t be any break in play!

Machined from Solid stainless steel this gyroscope is incredibly high quality, and very heavy. That mass provides a substantial rotor that is purposefully designed to maximize the performance of the gyroscope. The discus form of this instrument allows many effects to be observed by simply placing the gyroscope on its side that would usually require gimbals.

The elegant stand, also machined from solid stainless steel uses three ball bearings to minimise friction with the precessing gyroscope. This leads to fascinating and unique motions being observed, where the precessing gyroscope will actually elevate over time, until fully vertical where most other gyroscopes simply slowly descend. Once vertical, the gyro is free to spin on the unique bearing arrangement. It is a striking reaction.

Shipping

We aim to ship orders within 48 hours. 
For UK deliveries, we use DHL Parcel (UK) and EVRI. 
For deliveries to Europe we offer a choice of DPD or DHL.
For deliveries outside Europe, we ship by DHL.

Our warehouse works Monday to Friday only. If we receive your order by 10am then we aim to ship the same day or the next day, depending on how busy the warehouse is. On the day your order ships, the warehouse will send you your tracking number by e-mail at 7pm UK time. The delivery time to reach you will depend on the shipping option you have chosen. 
Returns

We will accept items that you wish to return, within 30 days of placing the order. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to us, and it must be in saleable condition. We will refund you the cost of the item. Please let us know if you wish to return an item before you send it. 

If the item is faulty, please let us know, and we will ship a replacement or refund your money, as you wish.

Very well made and surprisingly weighty. Spins up easily. Be careful not to lose the ball bearings in the support cup!

Very solid and well engineered. I found the best surface to get the gyroscope going was an A4 sheet of photo quality printing paper. An A3 sheet would have been even better. The glossy side of the paper affords just the right amount of grip to get the gyro going. Warning though - if you�re beginning to lose your grip (as I am at 70) you need to have your wits about you handling this. That said the grandkids loved it.

That's the best gyro I know. It's better than any gyro thanks to the way you can launch it and because you can put it vertically on a surface, or use it like a spinning top or like a boomerang on the table. And it's a very beautifully crafted object !
